Watercolor Winter

The first Christmas card of the season is always a lot of fun to make and always being a little more glitzy than any card I would send out!  You know the type: lots of techniques, specialty paper, tons of embellishments, too heavy for the mail, etc.

Watercolour Winter is such a gorgeous stamp set and so simple to use for a two step set!  I stamped the holly and leaves and the other fan looking thing (someone want to help me out with what that is called?), and then rolled over that with the Music Notes wheel...love that one!  Then I stamped the poinsettia and used gold embossing powder for the overlay.   It's popped up with a dimensional to make it the focal point.  A little Champagne glitter paper is super stunning on the side!

It's a little hard to see but I stamped my greeting in Versamark before inking it up and then embossed it to give it some shine.  I love that I can keep the colour I want but still have that pretty, embossed look.

Merry Mojo

Ready to mojo? This week gives you the option of round or square but I was in a square sort of mood. Remember, this is just a sketch to get you going and, as you can see by my card today, it doesn't have to look the same! I really had every intention of using stars and circles but after deciding on the Big on Christmas set went in a different direction.

Stampin' Tips:
  • Line art images like the ones in Big on Christmas are perfect for colouring with Stampin' Up's fabulous markers

  • Add dimension and interest with patterned paper and buttons

  • Making the bottom layer look like a wrapped Christmas gift adds a sweetness to this card.

Very Via!

I'm busy working on craft fair goodies for a show I have this coming Saturday and I am nowhere near organized enough! My stamp room is strewn with Christmas paper, static stricky strip pieces, dimensional backings and glitter....it's a disaster zone. But oh what fun I'm having, hehe!

Anyways, Josh and I love Starbucks. Random thought is what you're thinking I'm sure but hear me out. We hate instant coffee but Starbucks has these Via sticks that you mix with your hot water and you would NEVER know they are instant, they taste awesome! Now I would love to take credit for this idea but I have to say that it was Josh who said (having seen my tea bag holders), "Hey, you're stampy, you should make a little holder for this!" OMG. This is why I keep him around! So he bought me a box and I put it on my desk...and there it sat for over a week until I decided to get creative. And I did. Look:
Ahhh! It's so adorable it's killing me! After figuring out all the measurements I went a little overboard with the embellishments on this particular one, there are too many to even list! The sparkly embossed snowflakes are just so pretty in real life. The 'Merry Christmas' banner adds dimension to the project and the sponging and tiny pearl give it a really elegant feel. What a perfect little gift to give your coworkers this Christmas, eh? Here are two more that are a little more toned down so you could make lots of them quickly.
These little goodies are so easy to make but I will do a video tutorial for you so that you don't have to figure out all the dimensions on your own. It will post on Monday because I have to spend the remainder of this week getting everything finished up for the craft show. I'll share the things I'm making for the show with you over the next few days.

Cutting and Creating and Cutting

The 2nd Annual Christmas Card Extravaganza is almost here and I am so excited! This is my favourite class of the year and I go all out for it!
This year my crafters will be making 20 cards in 5 different designs. Here is a sneak peek of 3 of the cards, I will show the other two after the class.

The reason I look forward to this so much is that it's the perfect jump start to getting into the holiday spirit! Food, friends, holiday music, stamping, socializing....how can it get any better?

I can't believe how close it is getting to Christmas! Skyeler has started reminding me almost everyday that he wants Santa to bring him the "real Woody just like Andy has". Christmas through the eyes of a child is so amazing!

So a question for all of you: When is it okay to put up the Christmas tree? I think it's too early but there are people with theirs up and tons of houses with lights already. What do you think?

50% OFF STARTER KIT! This offer is only available until November 30th...don't miss out! For only $107.50 this is a never before seen offer!
