My New Favourite

So I'm the type who tends to latch onto a new technique, fave colour combination or stamp set and just run it into the ground with use. My new favourite is using white Craft ink on Stampin' Up! Crumb Cake cardstock...sooo pretty! Look:

I used the Whimsy roller which is such a fun design to create the background pattern and that's where I used the Whisper White craft ink. While I tend to create mostly with the Classic pads I do occasionally like to pull out the Craft pads because they give such a different look to your images. That ribbon is the brand new Marina Mist 1 1/4" striped and it is so much fun to work with. This has always been my fave ribbon and now that we have it in 11 colours I am so happy!

If you don't have a 2010-2011 Idea Book & Catalogue and are living in Canada please let me know and I will be thrilled to send you one!

Working Away...

I haven't had a chance to post a project yet today because I'm working on a cool project of my own!

I've been wicked inspired by all the amazing sample ideas in the 2010-2011 Idea Book & Catalogue and so I'm creating something that I'm very excited about. It'll be a display area that I can change out with the seasons to keep it new and fun all the time.

Step 1 was just completed which involved painting some REALLY old shadow boxes....like so old they were my grandma's and she used them to display things in her kitchen. My grandma passed away almost 5 years ago so it's special for me to get to use them now. :)

I'm so excited to get these up in my stamp studio and fill them up with super cool projects and card ideas.

My favourite samples from the catalogue are these ones:
Pg 14-15- the Level 3 Hostess display
Pg 143 - all the little 3x3 cards and envelopes
Pg. 159 - the scrapbook page at the top
Pg. 206 - this is the display I am using as inspiration!

And now it's time for some BLOG CANDY!!!

What are YOUR favourite samples or displays? Leave me a comment letting me know and I'll draw a name on Sunday. You will win an assortment of buttons and ribbons and a 6x6 piece of every pattern of DSP from the Greenhouse Gala, Blueberry Crisp and Play Date collections....that's 36 different pieces of Designer Series Paper for you to enjoy!

GO!

New Catalogue Summer Fiesta

I wanted to post some pictures from my Summer Fiesta party which was the kick-off for the 2010-2011 Stampin' Up! Idea Book & Catalogue. But I would like to start with a big thank you to all my customers and friends who made it such a success! I hope you had as much fun as I did.

I had lots of retired product for sale and I think I only had about 4 stamp pads left at the end....all the other paper, ink, markers, etc. had been snatched up which makes me so happy!

On arrival everyone received their brand new catalogue and a bookmark which showcases the new core colours on one side and on the other are the new In Colours which are so beautiful but unfortunately, I forgot to take a picture of the back side. I also wish I could take credit for this awesome idea but it was a CASE and I forget the demonstrator's name but if you're out there and see this let me know so I can give proper credit! :)

The Make'n'Take projects featured new stamp sets, inks and DSP from the catalogue and I tried to keep it simple and fun. The first card uses the Chic Boutique (113744) set and combines it with En Francais (109521). I then added in some gorgeous Love Letter DSP (117162) and mounted it all on the returning colour Riding Hood Red (111348). Magnifique, n'est-ce pas?

The second project was an itty bitty baby card with an envelope. To create the card I used the onesie image from the adorable new Baby Bundle (118525) set....it's too cute for words and a must for every stamper to meet all your baby card needs! I used 3 punches, 1 3/4" Scallop Circle (119854), 1 1/4" Circle (119861), and the 1 3/8" Circle (119860) to punch out the image and layers. I added a little of the new 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon (119255) in certainly celery and there you have it! The envelope was made with the Scallop Envelope Bigz Die (113462) for the Big Shot.

Too Long Gone

Wow. My last post was on July 14th and I've missed you all! Sometimes life gets in the way and there's nothing that can be done about that but I am back on the blogging horse and ready to ride (as it were, lol!).

So crazy trivia tidbit for you....did you know that July is National Cell Phone Courtesy month? Suffice it to say a lot of people must not know that, know what I mean? ;) It is also National Hay Month and Get Along With Your Ex Month (good luck to those of you with an ex!) but my favourite is this.....it is National "July Belongs to Berries" month and I looooove berries. So in honour of the berry I made this card. Too cute!

Well I also bought a carton of strawberries today so I am off for a snack but will be back tomorrow and that is a promise! :)
